Technical description

  • The straight line edger is made up of a pair of shoulders of considerable length connected by a base.
  • The beams have been constructed so as to avoid any type of bending which would cause mistakes in the machining of the glass. Beams and spindles for the machining of the edge and of the threads are fixed on the shoulders (front and rear).
  • The glass is held by high-resistance plastic sliding blocks, with vulcanised rubber sheathing, which ensure the necessary sturdiness and precision to carry out a proper machining and a good hold of the glass sheet.
  • The lubrication system of the tracks and of the chains is carried out through nozzles that spray oil on the necessary points. This is activated by the operator by turning on a nebuliser contemporarily to the tracks advancement.
  • The track conveying capacity is 150 kg per linear meter. The processing speed 0,4 – 6 m/min.
  • Speed adjustment is carried out through a potentiometer on the control panel and the reached value is displayed by a screen on the same panel.
  • The glass is transported inside the working area by a belt which slides on a low-friction coefficient material with high-resistance to wear.
  • The entry guide permits to change the glass passage height (through a graduated handwheel) to enable the machining of the flat edge and threads removing different quantities of material according to production requirements
  • The machine is standard-equipped with a safety device against accidental trapping of the operator’s hands during the glass introduction phase.
  • The machine is equipped with a servo assisted adjustment for the position of the front beam in order to adapt it to the various glass thickness.
  • The adjustment of the diamond spindles is obtained by a graduated handwheel which permits the displacement of the wheels with centesimal precision.
  • The polishing spindles are equipped with a (completely automatic) pneumatic wear recovery system and their management comes through pressure adjusters and gauges on the control panel.
  • Each wheel is cooled by two water jets so as to ensure a correct working temperature and an optimal washing of the removed glass dust.
  • The machine is equipped with a special corner dubbing system, for carry out the arrissing on the two front and back edges. (models 108CD)
