Numeric control variable angle straight line edgers "VARIANT" models

Contact

Technical description

  • The variable angle straight-line edger has been designed with a very strong chassis supporting large shoulders. The back beam structure is strong enough to avoid any possible flexion causing processing faults.
  • The front and back beam as well as the support for the rotation of the tilting frame are assembled on the shoulders. The spindles for the flat edge and the arrises have been instead fixed on the two beams.
  • Glass is hold by plastic pads (hard-wearing), with vulcanised rubber coating, granting the required strength and accuracy for a correct process and a good sheet holding.
  • The lubrication system of track and chains is automatic and the machine program warns the operator every time the tank is empty or one of the nozzles is clogged.
  • The track conveying capacity is 150 kg per linear meter. The processing speed 0,4 – 6 m/min.
  • The speed is adjusted through a potentiometer located on the control board; the reached value is displayed on the screen of the personal computer.
  • The glass is transported inside the working area by a belt which slides on a low-friction coefficient material with high-resistance to wear.
  • The infeed conveyor height can be adjusted (by means of an handwheel with a gravity index) in order to carry out the edging and mitering process, removing the right quantity of material according production requirements.
  • The machine is standard-equipped with a safety device against accidental trapping of the operator’s hands during the glass introduction phase.
  • The machine controls 4 independent movements by means of their own motors and potentiometers having the following features:
    • adjustment of front beam position according to different thickness of glass being processed;
    • adjustment of tilting beam inclination according to the mitering angle;
    • adjustment of the horizontal position of the tilting beam rotation axis according to the required flat edge;
    • adjustment of elastic components height (front pads) for little sheets processing according to their size (models BCS - CDS).
  • The machine, according to the geometric dimensions and the processing parameters set on personal computer, automatically controls all these movements.
  • The adjustment of diamond spindles is carried out through an handwheel (with gravity index) allowing shifting the grinding wheels with centesimal accuracy. Polishing spindles are equipped with a pneumatic system for recovering the wheels wear (fully automatic) and they are controlled by means of pressure gauges and manometers located on control panel.
  • Every wheel is cooled by two water jets in order to keep the correct operating temperature and the best washing of the removed glass powder.
  • The machine is equipped with a special corner dubbing system, for carry out the arrissing on the two front and back edges. (mod.810CD)
  • The machine cycle is controlled by means of the user interface on personal computer with a graphic colour monitor (LCD). The software, designed by Bottero personnel, in Windows XP Embedded environment. The data entering keyboard is a diaphragm one (special for industrial environments) in order to avoid damages caused by dust or water (frequently present on operator hands).
