“ANTARES” model nc shape edger
|
Technical description
- The numerical controlled shape edger is made particularly for the grinding and the polishing of panes of glass or mirrors of a thin or medium thickness. The sturdy structure and the quality of the mechanical and electrical components achieve a precision of a high standard and therefore make the most of the productive speeds relative to the various tools used. The edge of the glass can be round so as to create various types of outlines (from the simple rounded edge, to the flat edge and threads to more complex outlines such as: bull nose, waterfall, OG) as long as tangential tools is used. This machine is basically targeted towards a market concerning the production of template glass used for the white goods and home furnishing industry (rear shelves, consoles, shelves, small surfaces, doors, table tops, etc.) and also for the automotive industry concerning limited batches of production (replacements of the vehicle’s window panes and also new supplies for special vehicles - agricultural vehicles, trains, underground trains, etc.)
- The base of the machine is made up of a sturdy welded steel structure on which the screw fasteners and traverse guides for the X axis movement have been machined. The base, on the left side, contains the control panel. This solution holds a major advantage for the customer in that there is practically no encumbering electrical cabinet outside the machine which would hinder movement.
- The crosspiece, also made of welded steel, has been structured to have the dimensions that avoid any kind of bending stress upon the vertical and horizontal surfaces and therefore guarantee the machine’s utmost precision.
- The machine’s work surface is made from a sheet of stainless duralumin which is fixed to the base and worked on by the machine itself.
- The machine also has a lubrication circuit which greases all of the ball/roll sliding blocks and screws relative to the mobility of the axis. The lubrication is achieved manually and the greasers are displaced in such a way to allow easy access to the operator. The numerical control, activated by a specific command, regulates the carriage and the crosspiece so that lubrication is carried out in an extremely easy and efficient way.
- The machine control panel houses the monitor, the PC, the keyboard and the mouse for entering data. In addition it holds a pushbutton strip to manage the machine cycles and the emergencies.
- The shape edger management software has been solely created by Bottero according to the criteria of utmost ease of use. Microsoft Windows ’98 is the operative system used.
- The machine includes the Shape Scanner system with which one can get profiles placed on the working table.
- A laser reading device which is installed at the front of the working table, automatically measures the tool diameter to be controlled.
- In order to assist the positioning of the sheets within the machine as well as the following removal at the end of the operation we offer a kit consisting of a pedal and a couple of electrovalves for each single work station. This allows, with the pane correctly positioned, to start the vacuum under it pressing the corresponding pedal and to start the air flush at the end of the cycle in order to remove the machined work piece.
